To be honest I always knew it would happen. I knew that the Huddersfield office would open. What I really couldn’t be sure of was whether the Customer Street Huddersfield office would open on time!
The main cause for concern was the extremely tight deadline. We needed to get a leased line installed for our data. NTL won the business on the promise that they would deliver on time. Despite delays in site surveys, the need to dig up 75 meters of path and problems getting into the building they delivered on time. Congratulations to the team at NTL Virgin Media from everyone here at Customer Street, we wouldn’t be open without you!
On the whole all of our contractors and suppliers have been extremely professional and helpful. If you are looking for suppliers for your business you should try using one of our excellent directories; UFindUs, Smile Local or More UK failing that just use a search engine and you will find us all over the search results.
There is one supplier who I will not name but has basically let us down at every step of the way. What’s more annoying is that he is a local business person who we have used in the past satisfactorily. No excuses can make up for a consistent failure to deliver and I really must question whether we will use him in the future.
It was a real team effort to get the office open and as project manager I know I have been pushing hard. The end result is worth it lots of real, well paying jobs have been created. More business owners will get to hear about our excellent products that get their business found on the internet.
Without pausing Customer Street is looking to the next office. Our offices in Marbella have been delayed by Huddersfield. We have the site, we have a manager, we even have a team of people waiting to start with us when are ready to go. Next month we will have a site visit and establish the project plan. For now I am catching up on all the other business process and management work that has been neglected in the big push to make sure Huddersfield opens.
